About KCFD3

Klickitat County Fire District #3 covers a  diverse area of 50 square miles in southwestern Klickitat County. Among the towns supported are Husum, BZ Corners, Snowden and the White Salmon urban growth area. Because of the terrain diversity we cover not only towns but also dense forest land, farmland and rural countryside.  A population of 4,500 is protected by fire stations:  The fire fighting force includes a Fire Chief, Assistant Chief and District Secretary/EMT as well as 30 dedicated and skilled volunteers. They continually train in order to maintain their fire fighting and EMS skills and to stay current with the latest firefighting techniques and equipment.

The Fire District serves our community by offering prevention, suppression and emergency medical services.  There is a mix of urban, suburban, rural, agriculture, farming, and undeveloped lands that we pridefully protect.  Our thriving community is robust and your fire department has a need for citizens who would like to give their time in any way.

Three elected Commissioners act as representative of the citizens of Fire District 3.  That said, these servants are keenly responsible for taxpayer funds and strongly welcome all citizens to attend public meetings which are the second Thursday of each month at the Husum Fire Station.  Meeting times begin promptly at 6:30 pm.  All meetings provide for citizen input, and it’s welcomed.

Station tours are available for adults and children upon request.
