Those headlines are from today’s Washington State Daily Dispatch. They point to the extremely serious nature of where we stand, state-wide and locally, when it comes to available resources to combat fire. Here at home we are currently in pretty fair shape, but that could change in an instant. Locally KCFD3 still has two units assigned to the Cougar Creek Fire on Mt. Adams; White Salmon and Appleton both have a unit on the same incident and Appleton answered the call to Chelan more than three days ago. Our residents are to be thanked for their support, vigilance and awareness.
